But how long should the break last? 
One <a href="http://v">study</a> found that you need to take a break of about four weeks so the CB1 receptor functioning can return to normal. However, another <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29560896/">study</a> concluded that you can take a short 48-hour break. This is enough time for the cannabinoid receptors to reset significantly. 
Ultimately, the length of the THC break depends on you. You’ll need to do some trial-and-error to see what’s the ideal break period for you. 
Other stoners recommend a three- to four-week break if you are a daily THC user, while a 10- to 14-day break may be good if you smoke weed a few days a week. A short two-day break could work if you use cannabis casually, since you’ll have a low tolerance.

Some people find it pretty straightforward to take a break from THC, with no unwanted side effects, while others may experience some withdrawal symptoms, making the first few days a bit challenging.

<li>Notice patterns like a place, feeling, or time that triggers a craving. Try to avoid these by anticipating and preparing for a craving to hit. </li>
<li>Don’t overthink the craving. You just need to get through it. </li>
<li>Replace THC with CBD. A <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29624642/">study</a> on mice found that CBD might lessen the withdrawal symptoms when you take a THC break.     </li>

As we herald the arrival of  pride month, we thought it fitting to give a little history on the merging of medical cannabis advocacy and the LGBTQ+ community in California. Essentially, <a href="http://blog.greenrush.com/finding-comfort-cannabis-and-pain/">medical cannabis</a> was legalized because of the hard work done by members of this community.
In a nutshell, queer activists began advocating for medical cannabis to be legalized during the AIDS epidemic in the early ‘90s. This happened after they saw how patients with HIV/AIDS were afforded relief from the nausea, pain, and decreased appetite caused by the disease.
This led to the opening of the <a href="https://www.cancerhealth.com/blog/rip-medical-marijuana-pioneer-dennis-peron">Cannabis Buyers Club</a> in the queer mecca of San Francisco by Dennis Peron, who saw firsthand how cannabis made his partner’s symptoms much more tolerable. 
This legacy was the genesis of the medical cannabis movement in California. It eventually led to the passage of Prop 215 in 1996. This bill legalized the use of cannabis for treating patients with terminal illnesses. It is this spirit, thanks to Peron and the community, that endures today.
