How To Make Delicious Cannabis Mojitos
The following recipe makes 2 mojitos and uses cannabis rum. For more details on how to make marijuana rum, keep reading.
What You’ll Need
- 2oz marijuana rum
- Mint leaves
- White sugar
- Limes
- Bitters
- Ice cubes
- Club Soda
- 2 highball glasses
Method
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, the juice of 1 lime, and a dash of bitters to each glass.
Add roughly 5 mint leaves to each glass. Using a cocktail masher, a wooden pestle, or even a fork, mash the ingredients together. This will help blend the sugar with the liquids, as well as release more flavor from the mint leaves.
Add 2-3 ice cubes and 1oz of cannabis rum to each glass. Top the glasses off with a splash of club soda.
Garnish with some mint leaves and a few slices of lime. Enjoy!
How To Make Cannabis Rum
Cannabis rum is made by steeping cannabis buds in non-alcoholic rum for about 1 week. All you need to do is decarboxylate some buds in your oven for about 50 minutes at 220°F. Next, add your bud into a mason jar, top with rum, shake, and let it sit for about 7 days. Finally, strain the mixture and you’ve got yourself a homemade batch of delicious cannabis rum.

Tips For The Best Cannabis Mojito
To make your mojitos extra tasty, follow these few simple tips:
For an extra zesty flavor, don’t juice your limes. Instead, cut them into small cubes and add them to the glass (rinds and all). Then, mash them together with the sugar, mint leaves, and bitters as instructed in Step 2 of the above instructions. This will release some of the essential oils from the lime rinds into your mojitos. Finish them off with cannabis rum and club soda and enjoy!
Try shaking your mojitos. Instead of making them in a glass, throw your limes/juice, mint leaves, rum, sugar, and bitters into a cocktail shaker with a few cubes of ice. Mash everything together as in Step 2, then give the mixture a good shake. Garnish your glass and add ice, then pour in your mixture from the shaker. Top off with some club soda and voila! While it’s not a “traditional” mojito, it’s a fresh twist on an old classic.
Instead of mint, try using hierbabuena (or spearmint). Cuban bartenders will always use hierbabuena in their mojitos for its sweet, fresh flavor.
Replace the sugar with simple syrup (a simple reduction made with 1 part water, 1 part sugar). Syrup will mix much better than raw sugar, helping you sweeten your mojitos without having to agitate them too much.
Once you’ve gotten the hang of making these cannabis mojitos, try adding your club soda before your rum. it's a bit tricky getting the amount right, but adding the soda first allows it to filter more evenly through the drink, rather than just sitting on top of the cannabis rum.
